I'm looking for 7'6" med/heavy action spinning in range lb 10 - 17, lures 1/4 - 3/4 oz that will drag a tube, light carolina, handle the heavy jighhead to use for big body water smallmouth bass fishing,
i been looking at MHX they doesnt have that but they do have 7'6" in med/light with fast action and med/heavy with modrate/fast but i'm looking for a FAST action and would like to know if MHX plan to add new models ?
know phexnix has 7'7" MH spinning with extra fast but the cost on this not my plans, but 7'6' with extend 1 inch of tube is probably if find right model

You could always take a St Croix 3C70MHF which is a 7 foot rod and extend it 6"

Josh

I built myself a rod for the exact purpose you have stated. I used the SJ843-MHX from MudHole. Although its not 7'6" like you specified, it does the job perfect for me. It is rated as a Med, but, to me, it fishes more like a Med-Hvy. I use it for dragging tubes, tubes & grubs w/ 1/4oz+ jig heads, 1/4oz+ fineness jigs, & mojo rigs w/ 3/16oz+ weight. I use a SJ842-MHX, for the same applications, when I downsize my weights to 1/8oz & below.

A "Very Versatile" blank is the MB941 MHX. This blank is 7'-10" and the butt can be trimmed by 4" to be 7'-6". The tip should be perfect for what you want. The power being med-hvy. in the butt, with the mid-section being medium. Line rating is 10 to 17 lb. test, with a lure range of 3/16 to 1 oz.. As previously stated, this is a very versatile blank that can be trimmed at the butt, by up to 6 inches. Is a great blank for bass, walleye and light inshore saltwater.

The butt of the blank does not taper very much at all for the first 8" and it does not affect the blank by trimmiming the amount that I have suggested in the post above.

Bob your right when you say versatile. Ive cut 6 and 8 inches off these blanks. It should be a very popular blank, fresh and saltwater.
