I believe most guys will say 48-72 hours for safe cure time. I have fished mine the next day when i just didnt want to wait. I figured what is the worst thing that could happen? Maybe a few wraps have the epoxy crack and i have to redo them. So far so good, havent had to fix anything Re: Can I fish my flyrod to tomorrow

Cracking won't be a problem, printing and hazing might me. Your finish won't be sufficiently hard to resist imprints from fingers, etc. You may find that using the rod after only a half day's cure will result in a finish that isn't as clear or sharp as it would otherwise have been.

Tom,
YOu can really use a rod within about 8-`0 hours after applying finish. But it is nice to really let the finish get really hard and tough. This only happens after about a week or so of good drying temperatures. You have another rod, go ahead and use your other rod and go fishing with your new rod next week. I assume that you are in it for the long haul. Maximize your rods appearance and give it a bit of time to really harden and get tough for the long term. Roger Re: Can I fish my flyrod to tomorrow

Greetings Tom Nair,
You have the option of shortening the drying time, substantially, but no flames. If its no dust and low moisture find an attic (ie heated by the sun), Good drying, Bob Marie Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
