Is there someone in North Alabama that would allow me to look over there shoulder when building a rod? It would be fantasic to talk about building with individual that has experience in making different rod applications.

Thanks

Tim

Closer to lake Guntersville but do travel to Montgomery 4 or 5 times a year and Wetumpka is short distance.

Pat Vinzant is located in Wetumpka and is a very accomplished builder. I have a feeling he would be happy to answer any questions you have. You can find him listed in the Alabama section of www.tackleworks.org

Tim

I can do more than let you look over my shoulder. I have been teaching a rodbuilding class for about seven years at our church in Huntsville. The classes are on Monday evenings and start the first "free" (no Superbowl or NCAA championship) Monday night in Jan., so you are in line for the next one. Most guys, or gals, finish up the first or second week in March. Unlike most rodbuilding instructors, I don't pick the kits. Instead, after a brief tutorial, each student will choose the rod of his liking the first night . I bundle the orders to a supplier to save on shipping. Most students build flyrods, but each class may have one or two building that special casting or spinning rod. The classes average about 12 students.

Give me a call at 256 8817004 or gguinn@knology.net for more info.
