Telescoping rods

'There are limited and some recent postings on the subject. Is there anything more in-depth or 'official' in rodmaker on how to build telescoping rods? Seems relatively straightforward, but...

Are you talking about rods with a short, 15 to 20 inch butt with the rest a telescoping tip? If so, you build it just like any other rod but remember that the butt guide has to be located on the longer piece so that it won't impede the the full collapse of the sections.

Another thing that I always do, is insert and glue a very short stopper in the very end of the large telescopic butt section. This will prevent from knocking the butt cap off, when the upper section is colapsed and slid down into the lower butt section.

On telescoping rods that have 3 or more sections, the guides seem to be placed at the top of the sections so they can collapse - not necessarily the optimum placement?
