Hello All,
I'm looking to do my first weave pattern and am looking for a single color pattern and have a couple of designs printed out but I am having a real difficult time laying out the design on graph paper as mentioned in Doc's Old School way. I want to get the software that everybody raves about but right now I just want to try and lay out these two patterns to get started since they will be my first patterns that I'm going to be weaving. I would like to eventually buy the software once I get started. What is the easiest and most accurate way to laying out a single color weave pattern, that doesn't cost me alot like the softwares? Thanks, Tony Re: Easiest Way to lay out Weave Pattern???

Tape your pattern to the underside of graph paper, then tape the graph paper to a light board or a window on a sunny day. Then trace it on the graph paper. It's how I do most of my patterns. The trick is sizing your pattern to make each line on the graph paper equal one thread. Re: Easiest Way to lay out Weave Pattern???

if you go online and search you can find graph paper files. Save themas "paint type" file and you should be able to import your image right onto the Graph paper.
I have done that in the past and it works pretty good. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
