Build Recommendations - Vertical Jig - Flounder - New Jersey

A friend of mine wants a rod for her father. He fishes the New Jersey shore, pleasure boat, vertical jigging squid for flounder. She couldn't tell me much more other than the rod he has now was his grandfathers and it's been splinted and duct taped many times over. He doesn't like to use the rod holders; says the rod in one hand balances the beer in the other so he doesn't tip over. Spinning reel's shot too so she wants the whole, ready to fish, setup. Willing to spend a few hundred (cost of materials). I've never fished for flounder and have no idea what would be good for this type of fishing other than a bottle opener for a butt cap. Blank, grip setup, line size, reel, would he need a lot of leader and to pass a knot, any recommendations would be appretiated. Thanks guys.

Seeker Hercules Inshore Lite was designed specifically for this type fishing. Guid choice: Fuji BMNAG, CMNAG, or MNSG guides, or Amtak Titanium Virtus Lites. EVA or Cork grips > I got it all in stock here as I build several of these rods a month.

No need for a long leader, I assume he'll have braid and a 3-6' Mono leader.

I would recommend calling Custom Fishing rods by Capt Neil Faulkner>> I know this is one of his specialties and he uses some Batson /Rainshadow/Forecast products on these builds
his number is 631-567-8049..
