a good blank in the 2-6 oz. range (will throw smaller baits good too) is Rainshadow's ISWB945 . as far as a "extra heavy action" , don't know anything about that !! this blank is a medium-heavy powered , moderate -fast action . the tip is pretty stiff , the rod loads up really good . i throw Huddlestons , BBZ-1, and other 3-5 oz. baits with it , but have used it throwing frogs on it with out problem .

Walt,
The SWB967-Blend in the MHX series is an Ex/Hvy, we only rate it 1 - 4 oz. but it was designed to throw the largest of baits.

Todd

Also look at the Catstar Graphiter series. I think www.calfishing.com I think has a review on the 800L and said it's only for the very largest swimbaits.

Walt,

You're going to have a hard time finding a blank that will throw a 3/4oz lure well and then throw a 6oz lure well. You should be able to find one that will do both to a satisfactory level. Have you looked at the Lamiglass muskie blanks? Most are rated in the 1-8oz range. I have an LGM102XH and it throws the lighter stuff fairly well and it can handle up to 8oz easily.

i went fishing today and was throwing deep diving crankbaits on my Rainshadow ISWB945 , it throw them no problem , i use my Revo SX for the DD crankbaits , i then take off that reel and put on my Revo Toro and throw 8" hudds with the rod !!
BTW, most of the dd cranks i throw on it weigh 5/8 oz. !!!!
