Parabolic VS. Medium Action

What is Parabolic Action? is this the same as Medium action? I have a buddy drinking the Carrot Stick Cool-Aid and wants me to build a 7ft. parabolic, medium action crank/spinner bait Rod. Is parabolic slower than medium action?

The term is mis-used badly by both fishermen and rod builders. Most often, when someone uses that term they're talking about a very slow action rod - something with very little tip flex and which flexes, even initially, from tip to butt.

You might want to spend a little more time with the customer and try to ascertain exactly what he's talking about. More than likely, when he says action he means power. When says parabolic, he means action.
