Want to put in my '2 cents ' pitch to rod companies....... that one piece rods are often a major hassle to urban fisherman who don't have a truck. More choices for two and three piece blanks for spin, casting and fly ( 3 piece) would be nice.

That covers fly blanks, and there were already plenty of travel fly blanks on the market. But my spin and casting clients who travel are not finding what they want.

Rod companies have to balance the cost to design, test and set up to produce each new model against the expected sales of that model. At this point, not many believe that sales of travel casting and spinning models justify the expense to bring them to market. But I see this changing a bit over the next few years. I suspect you'll soon see at least a few more casting and spinning models in travel versions before much longer.

Found 3 piece, any thing more you may have either use a 4-5 pc 8 wt fly, or ferrule a 2 piece ??

Most of my spinning rods are 2 or 3 piece and all my fly rods are 3 to 4 piece. I just ordered an MHX 2 piece spinning travel blank and in the research I found American Tackle Travel conventional blanks with 3 pieces, Batson has some 2 and 3 piece conventional blanks and St. Croix has some. But you are right, the selection is limited. Multi piece blanks have been the rule in fly blanks for a long time, but for some reason there is a lot of resistance in spinning and casting blanks.

Anglers Workshop has a line of 3 piece 7 ft trevel rods light through medium power fast action blanks, 3 and 4 piece salmon/steelhead blanks, and 3 piece heavier saltwater blanks also 7 ft long.
