What a weekend for the MICRO!
Sometimes it may become quite a challenge to SELL a custom fishing rod to a fisherman. When a fisherman is motivated to BUY a custom rod the shoe is on the other foot. Visit ESPN and take a look at the Elite Series Final standings at the Elite Event in Georgia this weekend. 1 Jason Williamson - Duckett Micro 2 Cliff Crochet - Swamp Boyz Micro Hauler 3 Terry Scroggins - Duckett Micro 4 Matt Reed 5 Gary Klein - - Consultant to Custom Builders Proof source material is rapidly falling in place. If you sell bass rods I hope you have been paying attention. Ready Set Go! Re: Selling Custom Rods

Was there somewhere on the Site that specifically stated what they were fishing? Looke through a bunck of pages and photos, but never really saw that information. Re: Selling Custom Rods

Any of the pictures you saw with White rods and red trim would be Duckett rods. But the one I was talking about sure looked like a Bill Stevens special. Rolly Beenen Rovic Custom Rods Re: Selling Custom Rods

Watching on TV, I have seen the white rods with red trim in the hands of several pros over the last couple of weeks. Boyd must be handing them out any chance he can get.
Just makes good sense. Use a color that allows your product to stand out. Put in the hands of those being filmed in action every week. Better then a commercial at a fraction of the cost. Instead of 30 second spots that cost a fortune, he gets repeated coverage over and over again during the length of an hour, and in most cases with a fish attached, and all it cost was the price of a few rods. Just may be the best marketing campaign of the year Re: Selling Custom Rods

look it up. Duckettfishing.com.
My comment was made more tongue in cheek - but they do tout 20 years in the headline. ----------------- AD Re: Selling Custom Rods

Many of the production guys appreciate the work done by Rodmaker with St Croix's involvement.
Castaway took notice quite early. Duckett Fishing now has the Rodmaker Article on Blank Breakage - E21 requested several copies Duckett's written warranty is very clear - Hopefully they reject blatant abuse and missuse and deny claims which exhiit those characteristics. Sure is going to get interesting in the near term. Edited 2 time(s). Last edit at 05/26/2010 03:30PM by Bill Stevens. Re: Selling Custom Rods

I saw one of those pretty Duckett rods snap like a twig on Sunday. I forget what show it was. When you set the hook like a bodybuilder who's just been stabbed with an epi pen and there's a big fish on the other end, just about any rod will break. I cringe every time I see a 'pro' set the hook.
