I should have a decision on a 2011 Expo by end of next week. The locations I am considering are either High Point (Showplace) or Winston Salem (Benton Convention Center). There will be some changes in the overall scheme of things, but not by much. Likely date will be the 3rd or 4th week in February. I'll have more information available late next week.

I don't suppose you have ever considered kind of a circuit sort of set up for the expo. Like one year in High Point then Denver then Las Vegas. So that the expo could attract more people as it will be an event never before experienced in those areas.
I would like to point out that I am not telling you that you should or anything. I know that you pretty much do this because nobody else will and maybe doing it close to home is the only option for you. Although I still haven't gotten a chance to go to an expo, I really appreciate you putting on the expo and everything else you do for the craft. Just wondering if you had considered it or if it were even an option for you. James Re: 2011 Expo

James,
I understand, thanks. Something like the Expo is pretty unique and it's a huge financial risk. Due to the demographics involved it would never be as successful west of the Mississippi as it is east of there - it really needs to stay within a days drive of a majority of the population which means this side of the big river. What we have now doesn't suit everybody and I'm fully aware of that, but it's proven to work for the greatest number of people possible while still being financially viable for most. And I have to be able to pay for hosting and marketing it. Something that ends up being a little more expensive here, but a lot more convenient time-wise. But who knows what the future might hold. I always keep my options open. While I'm at it, @#$%& will again have their event in California in October. So there is at least one other option for those interested. ................. Re: 2011 Expo

The folks from the TRB that were able to go to HP in 2010 said that it was the greatest and I know that they are planning for even more to come this year.I hope that I'm one of them. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
