Blank Recommendation - 6' topwater rod...

Hello all,

I'm looking for a 6'-6'6" casting rod, for light topwaters for bass fishing. This is going to be throwing 1/2oz topwaters, sometimes lighter, sometimes heavier...with 8-12lb line.

I need to stay in a decent budget, so please keep that in mind. I'm trying to spend $70 or less on all supplies.

Let me know what you think. I've used CUI and liked them, Rainshadow, Batson, etc...I just need to get a clearance blank or a lower priced blank.

Thanks in advance,
Shawn

The Castaway HG40 MB784 is worth considering. Swampland has this blank for $12. I recently bought two and they feel like they would make an excellent topwater rod.

i use a rainshadow CB66M for light topwaters - mostly 1/4oz pop-rs. on 12 lb berkley xl (it floats). casts them a mile and won't pull the hooks.

Regards,
-Justin

The RX7 ISB 782 has turned out to be an excellent topwater blank for me.
