Looking for a 7' crankbait blank that has some give to it, not stiff, flexible Medium Power for under $50? Could be fiberglass, blend, whatever.
To throw lipped 1/4-1/2 oz crankbaits, rattletraps, etc. Some backbone but a soft tip or end on the rod. Thanks, Dave Re: Good 7' Medium Mod Crankbait Blank under $50

You may also want to consider the CB843 Blend in the MHX series. For what you have mentioned as far as your lure range and flex of the blank being mod., it appears the CB 843 blend will be one to take a look at. Bob McKamey bobm@mudhole.com Re: Good 7' Medium Mod Crankbait Blank under $50

On the lighter end, the eglass Calstar BT130-7 would fit the bill. It's a 4-12 pound rod and has a very light tip and fast action. If you're familiar with CCS, the AA is 75 and ERN is 12.8. Weight is 2.7oz. It definitely has a parabolic feel. If you're throwing 1/2 oz lipped crankbaits, though, you may want to consider something like the Mudhole/Lamiglass (Inshore Series) ISP705 AA 61 ERN 14.7 10-20 pound. Weight is 2.2oz. Not as parabolic as the Calstar (though still not stiff), but stouter and a touch lighter. The SPG843 is a nice parabolic action, too, but it'll weigh the most. The 784 at 6.5' is 3.1oz. Jason,
I got the MHX 843 from Bob while I was at the show. This is a VERY nice blank for what you mention. I have fished it along side of my Loomis CB843 and to me the difference is negligable! You will truely enjoy this rod! Tom Re: Good 7' Medium Mod Crankbait Blank under $50

That has been my experience with ALL the MHX blanks. The big difference is the price, not the performance. And their "blend" blanks are a blend of different modulus carbon fibers, NOT carbon and fiberglass. Re: Good 7' Medium Mod Crankbait Blank under $50
