i am in the process of gathering some info on building some catfish rods for myself. i need something that can handle the 1-3oz weights along with big chunks of cut bait or live bait. most importantly, it must be able to dish it out to those cats. up here in mn, majority of our cats dont get huge - but they do get pretty big. the channels average around 10 and the flats can get up to 60. i will probably toss in a couple sturgeon trips on the st croix during late summer and fall as well.
any ideas would be great. ie. blanks, guides, seats, etc Re: blanks and components for cats

The same rods used for Musky's in that area would double as good catfish rods.

Call Andy today at Midwest Rod and Reel. He fishes for cats down on the river and I know he can set you up with a good Batson blank. Thanks, Chad Huderle Huderle Custom Rods Prior Lake, MN Re: blanks and components for cats
