What is the easiest and best way to dye and or color cork? I want my next built look as stealthy as possible

I don't think anyone has successfully dyed cork. It will not absorb water therefore it will not take dye either, not to any depth anyway.
When I want stealth I use the hard black EVA. Swampland sells some great split grip kits in the hard EVA. I am using it on Casting rods and my Tournament Fishermen love it.

As cork is a closed cell structure, it will not absorb a dye. Any coloring will only be on the surface.

The use of a black carbon fiber grip is very stealthy!

I made a post about dying cork. Do a search on dying cork. I am sure there is a chemical way to do it, I have tried multiple types of dyes., I have boiled and vacuum sealed in a canner. The cork still well not take a dye. The cells are too tightly formed. So the end results is all you get is a surface covering, with no penetration.

You can burn the cork to give it a darker molted effect. Kind of like a camoflage, Use a propane torch and keep it moving.

Why would black be the most stealth? Doesn't fit the definition of camouflage. What if the sky above and behind you is beautiul blue? Also, I don't think fish see black sky, or blue sky. When I used to swim as a kid and looked up from under water I saw a mirror finish on the surface? Black will probably cast a better shadow on the water than any other color.

Well, Jim is correct , "stealth" is "sneaky", black would be stealthy if you were fishing at night I guess. I think what I meant by the term was all black no bright colors just a single or double thread trim band sometime. That's the way most of my clients want them. They don't want any "flash".
