played around with a couple of trim bands with wapsi wire and they look fantastic. Whats the best way to cut the tag ends? I just bent them till they broke and it seems to work fine. any better suggestions?

The Wapsi wire is soft and you can cut it with fingernail clippers.

Wapsi sells fly tying supplies. They have some products available under their own house brand. Check with your closest fly fishing shop. If they have tying supplies they're apt to have it or something similar.

I have a set of "beater" scissors that I use to cut fine wire. For the thicker stuff, I use the cutting edge of a small needlenose pliers. This wire is the stuff used by fly tiers, and you can find it anywhere that sells fly-tying materials. It is available in about a dozen different colors and probably 4 different gauges. I've never tried it as trim on a guide wrap, but I might just give it a go.

It come in some very stunning colors. I was only playing around with single bands, and i've got to say I think it looks much better than metalic thread single bands.
I'm sure some of the folks on the left carry it. Anyone who has fly tying stuff. I put a pic of some of there colors up in the misc. section of photos.

I would use small or Brassie for a smaller rod or fly rod anything else would be too big.
