I have a couple of questions regarding use of hobby foam in grips.
Will rod bond work for gluing hobby foam to cork? Will hobby foam hold up OK? My grandson wants an Iowa Hawkeye rod. I was going to use pieces of gold and black hobby foam glued together for accent rings. I was not sure if this would affect the integrity of the cork grip? Thanks steve Re: Hobby Foam

Hobby foam for me has held up good if I didn't use to much of it, it's much more spongy and softer than regular EVA. Still for small trim pieces it works very well.
I've used contact cement to glue foam to each other and Rod Bond to go to the cork, but Rod Bond will work all places, just leaves a bit more evidence of it's presence than contact cement does. Re: Hobby Foam

Steve,
Make sure that when you have the grip all turned down that you put some color preserver on the foam trim rings. that will help seal the porous foam and the color will remain longer and the foam won't fragment as easy. Two good soakings should do it. Buzz Re: Hobby Foam
