Cork Rings

I was hoping to get some instruction and/or advice on turning my own cork handles.

I'm interested in the following:

• The basic most economic setup as well as advanced setups or tools
• Basic knowledge of cork grades
• Working with rubberized cork
• Type or grade of sandpaper to use or some other implement
• Pitfalls or things to stay away from
• Advice on adhesives
• Coating or finishing

Thanks in advance and all the best,

John

I seem to recall that William White mentioned to me that he had a cork lathe or something like that for sale at a good price when I recently purchased some of the the blanks he has listed on the swap/sell page. I am not far enough along in this craft to need one though. You might email him and find out more.

John,
There are lots of good articles on the subject in the Rod Building library.

Mudhole has some pretty good articles on the subject as well.

If you have specific questions, you can drop me a line.

Take care
Roger
