This Morning..My son said to me...." I don't know why you are building custom rods..when anyone can go to Wal-Mart and buy one for $35.00...???

BTW......he fishes with four custom rods.....St.Croix's.....GLoomis....Rainshadows and Lamiglas !!!

Should I take him out of my will now...or should I cool off before I disown him ????....

It sounds like you got yourself 4 nice new rods, and he has a $35.00 walmart special. That'll show him!

Don't take him out of your will; just take away his rods, and send him to Wally-World.

If he has never fished with anything other than your custom rods, he's simply not aware of the difference. Buy him a Wal Mart rod and ask him to use it for a few trips.

Give him 4 Walmart Specials with zebco 202's for reels for his birhtday and hide the customs for awhile ...............

Wow MaryLou! I guess that makes sense, you have no doubt spoiled him with your custom builds, and he probably never experienced fishing with a inferior rod. Pretty typical with allot of anglers that have never fished with a quality custom rod, they cant appreciate the difference until they finally do. Ive had many anglers that have only fished factory rods to say they would have never guessed the difference would have been that great, and they would never go back to a off the shelf factory rod.

Like said. take the customs away and give him the Wall Marts. he will learn

Thankfully, I feel like an adopted son of Mary Lou`s. The postman delivered today a custom fly rod from MLV with a bag of fresh coffee from Montana! She is a wonderful friend and a talented rod builder. You should all be so lucky to see her work in person...and rumor has it that she will attend her first ICRBE in 2011!
