Renzetti Rod Support "O" rings

My Renzetti rod support "O" rings are beginning to crack and I need to replace them. Is there anyplace other than Renzetti to buy these. I have tried my local ACE Hdw. store, auto parts and so on, with no success. I looked at Renzetti's site and found them for $2.00 each, but the shipping was $18.00 for 9 "O" rings. Seems a bit high to me (shipping). Any one have any ideas or suggestions? Any and all would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Steve Burdick

It only costs pennies more to be first class

Try a hydraulic supply shop. They should have quite a selection of o-rings

Steve,
What is the diameter of the spool on which the O ring is placed.
What is the diameter of the unstretched O ring - i.e. the actual size of the piece of unstretched rubber?

If you post these, we can then give you a source for a replacement ring.

Take care
Roger

Steve,
You indicated that you were not able to find the O ring that you needed at your local hardware store.

I would suggest that you take your rod rest off your lathe, and take it with you to the next trip to the hardware store, and use it to snap on one of the many many different O rings that most good hardware stores have in their plumbing department.

Just because an O ring is not the same size as the resting size of the O ring that you took off the rod rest does not mean that there is not another one out there - of a close and or similar - but not the exact same size that worn't work just as well.

Take care
Roger

Here is a chart that shows standard AS568A o-ring dash sizes, there is no chance that they are using anything other than a standard o-ring.

Once you figure out which dash number you need you can probably buy a bag of 100 for about 10 bucks.

Your local hydraulisc shop has them. They are standard orings. Look in the yellow pages and tell them you need orings for code 61 split flanges.
