For a shaky head rod you want a blank between 6â€™6â€ and 7â€™ with an extra fast action and a lower lure rating around 1/8 â€“ 3/16oz.

It sounds like you are looking at MHX blanks, their best shaky head blanks are a little hidden within their ratings. The SB811 or SB812 are excellent blanks for this application, the other blanks that should be excellent are the new popping blanks. The MHX popping blanks are designed like the Lamiglas XMG popping blanks and are extra fast action with very light tips, not at all like most other blanks called popping blanks which are quite moderate actions.
