Silk is a tough one where CP is concerned. There is a product called Al's Color Preserver available through Angler's Workshop that is highly recommended by many users of silk thread.

I don't think any CP won't darkness silk a bit. It's far worse to have blotches and other things silk can do, Al's has worked very well for me over the years, but admittedly thread color darkening has never been that important to me if it wasn't a great amount.

I wrote this on another threadf. [rodbuilding.org]. Since I use either silk or Madeira for my weaves, I need the color to be true. The new Cason's CP in my tests kept the color almost identical to the spool color. I sent a rod I just built with a weave on it (two Sun Fish looking at a worm on a hook) to Bill Cason to show at the last expo put on by Tom Kirkman. It is what I use now for all my thread work and guide wraps.

Swampland & Mudhole both carry Cason's Crystal Clear CP
