Cork is a closed cell structure and as such will not absorb the stain. You will some surface coloration that could soon wear off. Re: QUESTION ABOUT CORK ?

You can get different colored burl cork, though it will be considerably heavier that stand cork rings. Re: QUESTION ABOUT CORK ?

After shaping and cleaning you can stain or color -- but you will have to seal the color in and this may make the handle slippery to you. Check out the other colored and exotic corks Bill - willierods.com Re: QUESTION ABOUT CORK ?

Has anyone tried to dye cork by putting the cork and the dye in a pressure cooker? I'm sure it would take a while to dry before a cork sealer could be added, but it might work.
I have some cork rings that are pretty bad...I think I will give this a try with a few different dyes (all in the name of the advancement of science). Re: QUESTION ABOUT CORK ?

You can color it with a felt tip pen and it will take the color real well. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
