I recently bought the CBC-1 Cork Composite Buttcap from Mudhole. Its a 1" OD taper with a .875" ID. Bob just informed me that that cap is not currently available. I need to find a half dozen.....anyone know where I can get them? Re: Cork Composite Buttcaps

Mark,
Slip some composite cork rings into your lathe and shape them in a few minutes. Take care Roger Re: Cork Composite Buttcaps

p.s.
Actually, this was one of the main reasons that I purchased a new small lathe. i.e. just to shape butt caps from various materials. The other lathes that I had in the shop were not suitable for this specific task. Take care Roger Re: Cork Composite Buttcaps

Roger
Actually, I have not made the plunge on the lathe yet. I just started to assemble rods for my own use, so I guess I'm just an assembler at the momment. I'm sure that as I become more addicted to this hobby, and become a builder, I will step-up to the lathe. Until then, I need to find ready-2-use components. Thanks, Mark Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
