ok, I know normally the first two digits on a rod number is associated with length, and i think the last digit has something to do with power but not completely sure.
need some clarification on that please, or am i completely wrong Re: rod number question

You are basically right, the last number is power. The difficulty is that there is no standardization in what different power numbers mean between manufacturers or even between different models from the same manufacturer. Re: rod number question

Sometimes yes and sometimes no. The first two numbers usually indicate length, but some use inches while others use feet. So an x705 might be the same length as an x845. Depends on the company. Each tends to have their own nomenclature.
The last digit can be the company's respective power rating, or how many pieces the rod is. And some companies toss in a few letters just to make things a little different. Reference the St. Croix numbering system. ............ Re: rod number question

Jim,
Nothing is standard. Simply look up the specifications for the rod in the manufacturers index and you will be set. Take care Roger Re: rod number question
