What brand of finish?
What's the temperature in the room? With most finishes it's completely normal to still be tacky after 4 hours. Give it time and keep the temp above 70 degrees or so. Re: finishing Question

Right. Assuming you're working at 70F or just a bit higher, most will take at least 24 hours to set completely tack free (yet will still be a tad soft).

Moses,
I expect that time will take care of your problem. i.e. let it set up for 24 hours and it will likely set up. However, if you find that it doesn't set up - I have to ask the question. For what length of time did you mix the finish? For folks who are just starting; it is a common problem to not mix the finish for a long enough period of time. If you find that the first finish is not hard after 48 hours, you can apply a 2nd coat of finish that has been well mixed. The next time, be sure to mix for at least 120 seconds or two minutes. Good luck Roger Re: finishing Question

One thought, You said you used equal amounts of finish. Two thing can happen if the hardener is out of proportion. Too much hardener the stuff well never cure. Less hardener hardener and the set up time is faster. I never use the mixing container to hold the finish. I always place it on foil. As Roger mentioned mixing is critical, I always have music on in my shop, the average song is about 3 min. So when the song is up, the finish is mixed, I also reverse my mixing about 1/2 way threw. I just do it no reason for it Good Wraps Bob Re: finishing Question
