Is anyone coming thought Raleigh, NC on the way to ICRBE? I have a layover at the Amtrak station in Raleigh from 9:00 am till 4:50 pm on 2/19/2010, this means I won’t get to High Point till almost 7:00 pm making me late for the Rodmaker Reception. This is my first ICRBE and I don’t want to be late for the reception if it can be helped. If any one can give me a ride I would appreciated it. cell 941-725-1124

I'd rather be catching!

I don't know your travel plans but the Carolinian comes through Raleigh and continues on to High Point both morning and evening. Not sure how you're getting into Raleigh. The train you arrive on there should continue on to High Point.

Coming from florida on Sliver Star, thus the layover waiting for the Carolinian.

Okay, I understand. That's the old Atlantic-Seaboard line.

That layover is why I passed on the train (and I did want to take it) and jumped a flight from Tampa. You can walk to Enterprise Rent A Car from the station (one block) and the rates are VERY reasonable ... about $75 for the entire weekend. Of course, you will have to top off the gas tank when returning it ... around $20.

I checked into Am Trak also, I was going to have a 6 hour lay over in D.C. arriving in D.C. somewhere around 6:15 am. It was going to be close to a 17 hour trip from Ohio, so I decided not to go,
