Walt
If you wanted to consider a Composite blank, give Scott at Fishsticks a call. He has the Lamiglas Composite crankbait blanks that I build alot of. There light and the glass tips are nice. You can also get a 17 reel seat on them. The Glass crankbaiters I have built these for really liked them because of the weight and diameter of the blank without giving up the soft glass tip. We carry the full line of Batson blanks, including the Glass SPG series, and the "Universal" RDR70M, designed as a Downrigger/Trolling/Live bait blank which is a Glass/Graphite blend that loads nicely with a 1/2-5/8 oz lure and has a moderate top of the blank action with some Graphite backbone in the lower half. It and the much lighter action RDR70L are sleepers in the blank specialty area.

IMO the best fiberglass crankbait blank is the Seeker BS706, give Karen a call at Bingham Enterprises last I knew she had them in stock.
Good luck. Re: Fiberglass crankbait blanks

I'm with Stan. i love that BS706 blank...but Ron is right, that RDR70M is a sleeper. I ended up with one on accident last year...built it just to get it out of the show....that thing is a great cranking stick. Scott Sheets www.smsrods.com Re: Fiberglass crankbait blanks
