Hey guys this new issue of RM has lots cool hints. I liked the one about how to install a removable Butt Cape. for years I always put important info. into the Butt section. Them glued the cap on. Well when it came to removing the cap, the cap always got damaged or glue got on the info. I had placed in the hollow Butt end. This system eliminates the glue problem. Bill Colby thanks for sharing

I'm glad you found it helpful. I thought it would be something that some would find very useful.

In the interest of fairness I want to metion that Tom edited the article and took out a bit of credit I gave him for the idea. Maybe he did it for space or maybe he did it because he didn't want any credit, but that credit is due. When I talked to him about this idea I wasn't sure where to get the pieces I needed to pull it off. He suggested I find pill or medicine bottles of the right size and trim them off at the neck, leaving me with the threaded section and cap. I'd just have to find the right sizes to fit the rods and butt caps I was using. But that's the tip that really got me thinking.

As we were hanging up the phone it hit me that I could use cheap reel seat parts to do the same thing. So that's how it all came together. Again I'm glad you found it helpful.

I too thought that was a good idea and will deffinetley (sp) give it a try. Articles like that really make it a good magazine.

Caps can be glued into a nice cork or what ever end cap and you would not see it.
Got to tell every one I know that I want there empty bottles.

Also used as a weighted butt.
