I would like to do a grip or two in rattan, but I'm not sure what I should be using. On the web sites they have flat, oval/flat and round/flat and in a number of different widths. I would think, that the narrower the width, the easier it would be to wrap, or is the narrower more brittle. I've read to soak the rattan in hot water before using, so that should take the brittleness out. On one site, the wraps were done and then sanded down for a smoother feel, which suggests to me he used the round/flat rattan, but it doesn't really say.
Any help would be appreciated and maybe where is the best place to buy it. Please feel free to email me with any pointers your willing to share. Thanks Harold Re: Which rattan should I be buying for wraps.

The Rodbuilding tutorials.com has a tutorial on Rattan grips. He recommends flat/round. To read it here is the link

This tutorial pretty well shows how I do it, there is another by Kevin Graybeal that is very good, he used to post here so maybe he'll see this and answer. I've sent you a private E mail for any further help I can give you. Re: Which rattan should I be buying for wraps.
