Switch Rod Building

I am curious about these Switch rods.
I am thinking of building one (10-11' 8/9wt).
Is there anything different about building them that would be different than building a standard single handed fly rod?
Are there specific types of reel seat and grips for these 'switch-rods?"

Thanks,

Larry

Reel seats, no, but grips are much longer and with butt area large enough to grip so as to enable two handed casting. Got to photo sections with grips and search for switch rod grips for pictures.

Larry,
Your email is hidden. If you email me of "un-hide" I will send some pics and info. You should be aware that a #8/9 switch rod is a rather heavy rod that will handle up to 450-600 grains of line. For instance, I am building a #6 CTS Affinity-Switch that will handle a #10 RIO Outbound Short line that is 435gr. It will also handle up to a #11-12 standard fly line.

Also, you can go the Bob Meiser's site for an example of grain weights relative to rod classifications.
