Micro guides

Gentlemen,
I about to embark into my first attempt using micros on a CTS 9' 6" steelhead blank. I have read just about everything on micros and tip tops. I'm going to be using a Stradic 2500 for the reel. Through my reading I'm thinking about using YSG-25,16,8L, then the rest LSG 4s. I need to use a tube size #6 on the tip top but can't find a #4 ring in that size. Does it matter if the tip top is a #6 ring? I want the tip top to be braced. If this won't work can you point me to a sponsor who carries this tip top. Maybe they will introduce something new at the show.
Thanks Terry

I'm not really sure. But probably not bigger than 10 # mono.

You can get the braced Alconite tip BMCAT up to a 6 tube, it has a 4.5 ring and is drastically smaller than a standard #6 ring tip.

That guide setup will work great, but you could get a little more adventuress trying super high frame match guides with smaller rings.

I agree with mike, the reason for questioning was incase you were going to be using a heavier line, for which I would have suggested using a 6mm tip.

OK. Thanks very much for the info, I guess I was concerned with the ring size of the running guides compared to the ring size on the tip top. Thought the disparity in size would put undue stress between the last running guide and tip top.
Thanks

You could have a problem with icing going smaller than a #6 ring

Eventually, all things merge, and a river runs through it..
