30lb. Class rod

I would like to build a rod for a friend that loves to fish the party boats. I would like to build a 30lb. class rod for him but don't have a clue where to start. What blank - handle combination would you guys recommend? I'd like to stay away from wood handles though.

Well it depends on the party boat, some won't let you use vertical jigs. So first off what kind of tackle does he regularly use? If he vertical jigs check out the seeker hercules blanks..talk with Billy Vivona from the NERBS on the left. Seekers live bait blanks are outstanding too, calstar has good blanks also. As far as everything else talk with your friend, and see what his preferences are.

Check out the Batson RCLB blanks in 7 ft. or 8 ft.
Great value, great rod.
Those are my 30 & 40 lb. rods for tuna.
