Bill,
Money won - but you have a point - there does seem to be more replacements (not by me however) on higher modulas flip blanks. 2. You can't - build them one piece if you can get the right 8 ft. blank. An oversleeve of higher modulas would also work - but would be a bit of a nuisance to make the fit and overlap exact. Re: Kistler custom balancer?!?

Why would you extend the blank with high modulus material and then add weight to the butt of the rod? If you use standard modulus material for the extension, regardless of the modulus that the blank is made from, the result will be a tougher rod and it will not be necessary to add as much weight to the butt of the rod. Emory;
Would not using a higher modules material that is lighter, then adding weight at the butt; mean that all the added weight is at the butt, while using less added weight in the lower third of the blank with the lower modules material? Therefore requiring less added weight at the butt to balance the rod? Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 01/26/2010 03:00PM by Steve Gardner. Re: Kistler custom balancer?!?

The OD, thickness and weight - That is the reason that the one piece low modulus blanks do not not fit the bill when eight feet - can not even find a seat to fit up. I only want added weight at the butt to keep the entire thing at a minimum - the heavier oversleeve is counter productive just like shoving weights up in the rear of the blank. If you built one of these things and put it to use fishing all day you would easily see the delima. The business end of the things is on the tip end. Edited 1 time(s). Steve,
Yes, you have a very good point. Obviously I should have given it a little more thought before shooting off my mouth. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
