Here in Alabama we have some of the slowest mail delivery in the nation, Believe it or not some places here along the Coast are still delivered by boat. Anyways just a few days ago I ordered a back order of the Magazine and to my surprise it was in the mail today. As a published Avian photographer I have seen many stock photos published in Magazine over the years I would like to say I'm impressed with Rod Maker. I realize many people don't look upon photos from a photographers standpoint (AP,WB, ISO) in short the photos are very eye pleasing and informative to the viewer.

I have to ask. Is the present subscription magazines made of the same material paper wise? The thickness of these pages should hold up well over time and handle the workbench bruises

I don't know which back issues you received. The paper is heavier and whiter now than it was during the first 6 years of operation. Everything since about volume 7 on up, is the same with the exception of the gloss UV coating on the cover, which debuted in volume 8.

tom i am neither a rookie or a old timer for subscribing to the magazine but i will tell you this, about every three months i clean out old magazines (fishing, catalog) and throw them away, but i have never and never will throw a rod maker mag. out. they do not get obsolete, and the info is always reliable.
