Anyone have a Rikon mini lathe or any experience with one? I was supposed to be picking up a nice delta midi today, but the seller backed out on me. I have been looking at these online and they have very good reviews. I have never owned or used a wood lathe and will be using one to turn grips of various materials, any help would be appreciated Re: Rikon mini lathe Users?

I know a builder that has one and uses it frequenty. He has never said a bad word about it, at least not to me. It's a pretty good value for the money considering it's a little larger than similar lathes in the same price category.

Chuck,
I have the Rikon midi-lathe and have been using it for about 8 months. I haven't had a single problem and it does everything I need at this time. I can't tell you how it compares to the Jet since I've never used one. Sam Re: Rikon mini lathe Users?

I've had mine for about two years now and have had no problems. It would make a great first lathe. Re: Rikon mini lathe Users?

Thanks guys, It looks like I may still get that delta after all, wont believe it till I have it loaded in my truck though. Now all I need is for someone to show me how to use it. Re: Rikon mini lathe Users?

I have had mine for a couple years and it's a great little lathe with many extras that you'll come to enjoy.
