I am currently building a salt water spinning rod (30lb).
Seeing as how the guides will be on the bottom and may experience more pulling force than a conventional rod when the rod is fully loaded. In your opinion would it be best to place 2 wraps over the guide foot or would 1 wrap be sufficient? Any input is appreciated. Tom Re: Single Or Double Guide Wrap Question !

One will work just fine. A second wrap would only be for decoration and a little more abrasion resistance. Re: Single Or Double Guide Wrap Question !

One proper wrap will hold them all day. I build spinning rods for tarpon that have incredible force applied, I have NEVER had an issue. Re: Single Or Double Guide Wrap Question !

I go with two in this situation, although certainly you can get away with one. In my experience, the issue is not whether or not the guide will hold on to the blank, but whether I want to delay getting opaque crows feet in the finish, especially right at the tip of the guides feet due to the stressing. And I really stress mine.
