Ok I just put some pictures of a rod on the photo page.Looking for any back round information I can get.
The rod is a 7' Cortland 1-658-1 carbide tip.I paid $7.50 at thrift store.
The rod is in real good condition, just a couple minor scuffs on the thread. Also can anybody tell me what kind of finish that might have been used on it? It almost looks like C/P.It's thin and it's quiet hard.Has a clear look to it.

Also I posted a magnifyer/and light, that I picked up at a flea market for a wooping price of $5.00.This is the best buy I have ever gotten at the flea market.A couple of small scratches on the glass, but for the price I can live with that.

Thanks in advance for any information.<<<<DON>>>>

I posted under the photo. It was most likely made in the late 1950's to early 1960's. Some type of acrylic lacquer or varnish would have been used on the wraps. You can duplicate it with something like a couple coats of Permagloss. It has little monetary value, but appears to be a nice keepsake.

Thanks Tom!That is the type of information I was looking for.My primary intrest was in the age.Who ever owned it must not of used it very much, for as it is in remarkably great shape. The reason I purchased it was, for the condition it was in, and I drive an S10 pickup and this will fit behind my seat nicely. This way I'll always have a rod with me at all times. So the monetary thing don't matter.
For where the thread is skuffted in a couple of places.I was thinking about permaglos like you mentioned.
Thanks again.<<<<DON>>>>
