Just as important to me as seeing specific damage photos and explinations was the MFGr's comments and discription of defects in the manufacturing process and what I as the builder should look for when I receive a new blank. I had no clue!

Tom, thanks for another great issue. Fantastic article on the rod breakage research. I have had many broken
rods brought to my shop over the years and it is always a challenge to figure out what happened. Your article will
definitely help to determine the cause in the future.
