Decal problems

I just finished a theme based ice fishing rod for a buddy. Due to the small diameter of the blank I was having a heck of a time getting edges of the decal to stick. After 4 decals trying all sorts of ideas pulled off of this site, and lots of adverbs and adjectives being mumbled I finally got it.

I took 2lbs test mono and did a spiral wrap around the decal. The I think I only had about 4 wraps around the entire decal. But it was enough to pull the edges. I then epoxied over the entire thing. That was the ticket. Edges are down and you can not see the mono.

It might work even better if you used some small diameter fly tippet. Just an idea for some one who might have an issue with a decals edges lifting.
