very cool and informative videos in the instructional section. i checked out the building a preshaped cork handle and the writing on a blank videos. nice tips for writing and interesting to me to see how the pilot drill bits are designed to be used. but using a bicycle catalog for mixing 5 minute epoxy? what a shame! lol

When will bicyle racing helmits be added to the product list?

Roger is the only one I know of that has bike racing highlighted on a micro rod trout rod.

Web site really looks good! Looks like the work of a Yetti to me!

One serious question though - Has Roger seen the web site yet?

Did anyone else notice that Flex Coat advises against using color preserver because it prevents the finish from penetrating the threads?

The CP will penetrate the thread.

So, is it safe to say that the strength of the wrap does not depend on whether or not the finish penetrates and adheres the threads to the blank?

Guides are bound to the rod with thread, not finish. That's where the strength is. The epoxy simply encapsulates the thread and protects it.

You do want something, either CP or epoxy or both, to fill in the tunnels alongside the guide feet in order to create a bit of a "shoulder" which prevents rocking or movement of the flat guide foot on the round rod blank.
