Does anyone have experience with the FlexCoat lathe setup, the one that requires a variable speed drill to be clamped in? I would like to turn cork already assembled on a rod, not a mandrel, if that makes a difference.
Thanks. --Rich Re: FlexCoat Cork Lathe

Rich,
I have built dozens of fly rods on the FC Lathe and would not use anything else. I have worked with Roger Sieders to develope a simple system whereby you can turn the grip and fighting butt at the same time. Post your email - which is hidden -and I will send pics of finished rods and a description of the process. Herb Re: FlexCoat Cork Lathe

Check the photo page under equipment - there are a lot of home made lathes. I made one similar to the flex coat lath, and it works very well. Bill - willierods.com Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
