Does anyone know of a source for Berkley Cherry wood blanks? I've looked around and can only find 'pre made' (store models). Customer wants a 7' model for catfishing Re: Berkley Cherry wood

You could buy one for under $20 at WM and strip it yourself. Re: Berkley Cherry wood

Berkely does not now and never has sold blanks. Why not support a sponsor like Batson or one of the many others listed to the left?

I have a pair of Cherry Wood Rods that I bought in the 60's and have rebuilt a couple of times and have been around the world a couple of time and still have but do not use much any more. They have been good rods for me sure they are fiberglass. Edwin Kime Re: Berkley Cherry wood

I would be interest to know if anyone has opinions on which blanks are most similar in taper and action. I will never know if I like that rod because of its action or because of all the memories associated with the rod that I used through high school and college for everything from stream trout in Wisconsin to King Salmon in Lake Michigan. Great stuff and the black electrical tape used to keep the seat from spinning around on the blank could start a new trend in rod building! I don't EVEN want to peer in to the aluminum oxide rings on the guides. Great horrors may await. Re: Berkley Cherry wood

Ken, Take a look at Net Craft, they sell a plum blank of their own brand that is very similar in color, I've built several rods on them, they're very reasonable in price and of good quality. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
