How much tension do you put on your thread for micro guides? Just finished wrapping a rod and some of the guides I can twist almost all the way around the blank. I know that it needs to be somewhat tight but how tight. Re: Thread tension on micro guides

You should be able to shift the guides for alignment with slight side pressure, but it should take some slight effort. If they slip around at a mere "bump" or light push, they're a little on the loose side.

If you wrap too tight, those little buggars will pop out quite easily while you're in the process of wrapping them. I can't be the only one that's had them pop! Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
