Hard EVA Grip Material

Has anyone tried the Hard EVA Grip Material? How do you like it compared to the regular EVA ?
I normally don't use EVA on casting rods ( Bass rods) because of the softness but I thought I might try "Hard" type. I use a lot of the regular EVA on Spinning rods and everyone likes it,

Most folks like the hard EVA better, but it's not as easy to mount because it doesn't stretch as easily. Still, if you adhere to the mounting technique on the FAQs page you should be okay. Just don't expect to stretch it quite as far.

Batson & Matagi have the hardest EVA that I've found. IT is DIFFICULT to instal, even when following teh instructions it won't stretch very far at all. Much easier to ream it out almost as much as you would with cork. THe longer the piece, teh harder it will be to stretch down.

I have the EVA split grips from Batson on a few of my bass rods, and I really like it. It's much firmer than EVA grips I've used in the past, and makes for a soft, comfortable grip in my opinion.

I haven't had any experience with EVA. I've been told to treat it as you would cork when mounting it to a blank. I have had a couple of people recently tell me that it doesn't hold up and that sunscreen will dissolve it. I'm suspicious as to the truth of those comments, and before I contact any manufacturers about those complaints, I thought I'd throw it out on this board for comments. I have some of the camo Mooseskin EVA that I was considering using on a stand-up tuna rod which may see a fair amount of contact with the boat rail during a fight, and I'd like it to last more than one trip. Has any of you had any experience with using this material under these conditions? I'd appreciate your thoughts. Thanks very much!
