older flyrod question...

A question for the fly rod pros. My father-in-law passed away in 1981. He had an old flyrod, in a wrapped case, a 2 piecer. The brand of the rod and label on the rod says "Royal Javelin". I do not know a thing about older flyrods. I do not even know how old it is. My son has a couple flyrods, and my Brother-in-law is giving him Grandpa's rod to him as a gift from him and my wife. So I am just trying to find out a bit of info about the rod. It has a sticker that said it sold for about $30.00 when it was knew.
Thanks for any possible info! Kyle Robinson Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 11/25/2009 09:43PM by Kyle Robinson. Re: older flyrod question...

Kyle, since my brain is only 66 yrs old, I'll kick in. I concur about Garcia and I think it came from the 1960-1970 period. I had one and enjoyed many years with it. Nice fiberglass blank, I think I rebuilt it several times and passed it on to my youngest son. Re: older flyrod question...
