I'm building a bass rod for a friend who insists I put a balance kit(not balanced with lead in the blank) on the rod. What options do I have?
Thanks in advance Charlie Re: balance kits

We use these on all of our jig and worm rods.

I've used the Fuji kit before, my client was pleased. [www.mudhole.com] Re: balance kits

The one Lance suggests I think is the best thing to use. You can get like 3 or 4 different weights from Batson and then put the male threaded section on the butt of the rod. You can choose which weight is to be used depending on what you are doing with the rod or you can also just leave off the weight. I have used a system from Fuji that is like the ones from Bass Pro or Cabela's suggested above but you have to find a way to get it into the states since it is not one imported here right now. What is the optimum point on a rod/reel that you can test for balance for both casting & spinning?? Any special method for this test, lure attached and in a horizontal position, etc?? Re: balance kits

Sure --- no weight, put on the lure you want to use, then add a little and keep on doing this until it feels right -- to you. Your going to fish it. When your fishing, make sure you bring the weights with you so you can add or delete. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
