Has anybody used a Dan Craft crafty cutter for inletting their wood grips and if so how did it work. I was just on the site and noticed they were on sale for $49. I know they are great on cork but.... how are they on wood. I have used many different methods (most I have found on this web site) but still looking for a dfferent way. Not sure it's really substantial enough for use on wood. Shoot Dan and email and ask if he's tried it on wood. Works great on cork, but just not sure how well it would do on wood. High speed and light pressure, maybe.

Dan says no! Dang, I was hoping it would work. I am currently using the flex coat pilot maker set (where you make your own). I take spade bits and bring them down to the diameter that I need. I also bushing them up to a 5/16" dia. They work pretty well but sometimes in hard dense grain the pilot bushing comes off. I would really like to figure out how to pilot up a forstner bit. I hollow out my handles and epoxy in foam shims so it needs to be done after I turn the handle. Waht are others doing that way? Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
