I am new to this forum and new to the craft as well so please bear with me. I have seen some nice work done with the woven graphite tubing used to build handles and seats .Are there any tutorials or DVDs on this subject.

Thanks
Wayne

Wayne,
Check out the Library and the article on "Extending Rod Blanks". The woven handles are basically just extensions. As to how to build them, other than attaching them to the blank, they are exactly the same as building a regular handle and grip. Mud Hole has the tubes and nice handle kits made with them that include everything you'll need, seat, grips, trim rings and winding checks.

You may be referring to the foam core, carbon skinned grips which debuted in RodMaker Magazine, Volume 10 #6.

That may be what I'm thinking of. I'll check out that issue. Thanks

Wayne,

Batson makes woven graphite tubing in straight and tapered pieces that can be built up easily by using their foam bushings and arbors. The tapered foregrip pieces can be used to make a nice split grip.

There were a couple of articles about using these by Steve Gardner in Rodmaker, but he makes his own bushings to eliminate the need for the foam arbors. Check Volumes 10 #4 and 11 #1.

Thanks Joe and to all others for the feedback. I will start buying some materials and do some experimenting. I'll let you know how it goes.
Thanks Again
