Fellow, I think we lost Ron, but my guess would be that from all of the building for Conolon that he was building on fiberglass and spaced his guides on the Batson blanks out too far from each other and the tip. Re: batson blanks

The only time I've had a similar issue was with a run of St Croix blanks about 6 years ago. I purchased a dozen of them all at the same time and the first three simply snapped off 6-8 inches from the tip. I returned them all and St Croix replaced them all. It was a bad batch run.
